Game Theory

Single Player

There are twelve levels in Gas-Hogs, each in an exotic location with exotic energy resources and exotic driving dynamics.

But in each world, the Gas-Hogs have created a disaster area while crudely extracting petroleum. You are part of the problem - since you need their fuel.

Cleaner solutions are possible, but not here, not now, not to you.
Why not?

Because the Gas-Hogs are suppressing the new technology.
They want you to use only oil.

To liberate the captive technoloogy, you must defeat all the Gas-Hog defenses and bosses. Then snatch from them this critical device. That will allow you to break free of petro-bondage!

In higher levels, you solve even tougher problems. You will need to use the devices you collected on the early levels.

Single Machine Multi-player

Consoles require single-screen multi-player design.

Split Screen

Two players can play head-to-head in a split screen game. Bots are added to keep the the arena full challenging. The deathmatch-style game structure is described below.

Coop Play

Gas-Hogs also offers special two-player cooperative gameplay. The two players control two Mechanimals traveling and fighting in tandem, both well within the field of view of a single camera. They choose one 'steed' style Mechanimal (bull, ram, rhino) and one 'rider' (monkey, bird, racoon). These partners sometimes squabble so badly that they forget who the real enemy is.

Multiplayer Networked

You have to find enough fuel to keep moving.

Don't try to run on fumes.

You'll find some gas in the gas cans that hop through the arena. If you can catch them

There is even more gas in your opponent's tank.

If you can catch him.

DeathMatch

In deathmatch tournaments your goal is to get the gas from your oppponent before he gets it from you. When everyone else is out of gas, you win.

Each of the twelve levels has an arena area for multiplayer free play. Some are small and others quite large. Each of them features the unique driving dynamics (eg: skimobile, swampboat, undersea) of that level.

Teamwork

Team-based games require your team to collect all the gas cans, bring them to your base, and protect them from the other team. More advanced "assualt" levels will offer more objectives to the attackers and the defense.

In team games the Gas-Hogs and the other Mechanimals play against one another.
